Prospect Academy was founded by local community members, parents, and educators who have a passion for providing public options for students in all front range districts, especially students who come from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. Our focus is serving students with level 1 and 2 autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and similar learning profiles, as well as struggling learners without a diagnosis.
We will serve students with and without diagnosed learning differences. While the majority of students will have a diagnosis, the school is designed to serve all struggling learners. The forgotten 40% of students struggling to learn will be given tools to help them be successful.

Characteristics of a Struggling Learner:

  • Becomes easily frustrated
  • Has difficulty staying on task
  • Takes longer than normal to complete written work
  • Begins to argue over school work
  • Becomes anxious and stressed about homework
  • Starts to leave books and assignments at school
  • Has difficulty following directions
  • Seems to work longer and harder with little or no improvement
  • Turns in incomplete homework or none at all
  • Receives notes home from teachers about classroom misconduct
